Coresteel Tour Hosts Impress Once Again

We would like to thank all of the Tour Hosts for giving up their precious time to guide the eager students in this year’s Coresteel Innovation Award.

The Tour provided the candidates with an eye-opening experience, learning about and seeing innovation in action in the workplace. We were lucky enough to visit Sean Goodwin of 100% Pure NZ Honey, Clarissa Doran of The Oxford Restaurant, Andrew Tombs of Alpine Energy and Gary Lyons of Copyfast who told us about the innovative, forward-thinking approaches these local businesses implement as they operate in challenging local and global markets.

The tour allowed the students to really get a grasp on what innovation might mean. It gave them a deeper insight into a multitude of industries, businesses and manufacturing processes. It proved that innovation itself doesn’t just mean a creative or new design. The experience broadened their perspectives and showed them just how innovation and an holistic approach can be utilised, from business and marketing strategies, to new office layouts which help to boost productivity.

Overall, the tour enriched their learning experience and showcased some of the incredible businesses that we have in South Canterbury.

Finally, we would like to thank the judges Sean Goodwin of 100% Pure New Zealand Honey and Laura Handy Solve Chartered Accountants for giving up their time to judge the entries this year.
